Tony Birch holds the Boisbouvier Chair in Australian Literature at Melbourne University. He is the author of four novels, five short fiction collections, and two poetry books. His most recent book is the novel, Women and Children.
Siang Lu is the author of Ghost Cities and The Whitewash, which won the ABIA Audiobook of the Year in 2023 for its audio adaptation, and the Glendower Award for an emerging writer in the Queensland Literary Awards. It was also shortlisted for a NSW Premier's Literary Award. Siang is the co-creator of The Beige Index and the creator of #SillyBookstagram.
Emily Maguire is the author of seven novels, including the Stella Prize and Miles Franklin shortlisted An Isolated Incident, and three non-fiction books. Emily was the 2018/2019 Writer-in-Residence at the Charles Perkins Centre at the University of Sydney and the 2023 HC Coombs Creative Arts Fellow at the Australian National University. Emily’s latest book is the novel, Rapture.
This Writers in the Sky event is held at Scenic World, Katoomba and includes a complimentary drink, light snacks and shuttle bus from The Carrington Hotel.
The shuttle for this event leaves The Carrington Bus Stop on Katoomba St at 5:30 pm sharp.
